"For the mountains may depart and the hills be removed, but my steadfast love shall not depart from you, and my covenant of peace shall not be removed." —Isaiah 54:10
Things are subject to change in this life because on earth you live inside a closed system. This closed system, by law, will gradually breakdown and thus be changed. We watch this occur daily as our culture and the season's change. But you experience it personally. Your body ages, your health deteriorates, and your family transitions thus you too are changed. But Isaiah the prophet notices two divine things that invade your space and time continuum and this closed system. He sees them in contrast to the changing landscape of the mountains and hills. First, God's "steadfast love." And second, God's "covenant of peace." These two things will not "depart" or "be removed." They can be trusted by you to survive the length of your days and even beyond the destruction of the earth itself. They are unmovable giants given to those who believe.
DO THIS: Stop wavering in the change you face and trust in God.
PRAYER: God, the change of life has and can unsettle me. It distracts me and tests my faith in you and your covenant. Today I am taking you at your word. You're unmoved, and so will be my faith today.
