Uplifted

And when they could not get near him because of the crowd, they removed the roof above him, and when they had made an opening, they let down the bed on which the paralytic lay. And when Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralytic, "Son, your sins are forgiven."—Mark 2:4-5

The unnamed men of this story cared deeply about their paralyzed brother. He was paralyzed and desperate for healing, and the eager men brought him to the miracle worker who traveled through their small town. But they were presented a serious obstacle when they arrived at the place where Jesus was gathered—the house was so crowded they could not get in. So they devised a cunning plan. They pulled the thatch from the roof and lowered him in at the feet of Jesus. And of course, he was healed. It's a story worth reading because spiritual and physical healing were both provided. But this would not have been possible without great friends; brothers who cared enough that they would invest time, energy, and effort in seeing his hope and healing become a reality.

If you don't have a friend that cares about your hope and your healing—then you need one today.

DO THIS: Pray that God will provide you hope and healing, and a brother who cares about this for you.

PRAY THIS: God, bring a brother into my life who cares about my hope and healing, and me being a better man of God. Someone who will invest in me for the sake of my eternal benefits and not just his own.
