Are You Ready To Walk In The Light?

For everyone who does wicked things hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his works should be exposed. But whoever does what is true comes to the light, so that it may be clearly seen that his works have been carried out in God.” — John 3:20-21

In this life, some people live in intentional ignorance. They would rather not know the truth because knowing the truth would make them culpable, which would mean they would have to change because they are wrong. And over the last few years, there's been a lot of this going on all over the world. And we all know this is true. Government, education, politics, businesses, and media turn a blind eye to these issues. And we, the people, know this happens because we have done it too. We turn a blind eye to our repetitive sin, problems in our marriage, and outstanding issues at work. And why? Because knowing and dealing with the truth is hard work. So we prefer to live in bondage under a system of lies because it is the path of least resistance.

But, in contrast, there is another man. He is the one who loves truth and understanding. He is willing to be exposed and lives consciously free. He is free from hiding, and because of this, he has a certainty of action in everything he does. And this certainty gives him the freedom to live his life without the concern that one day he is going to get caught.

And with this, the late-night dialogue between Nicodemus and Jesus ends. The proposition is this. Are you ready to live in the light or understanding? Or will you continue to live in the darkness of human ignorance? And Jesus, the man who is the world's light, is sitting across from him, offering the invitation.

ASK THIS: Is there something in your life you need to bring to the light?

DO THIS: Confess it and live free.

PRAY THIS: God, give me your understanding.

PLAY THIS: My Lighthouse.

Brothers I have lived in that darkness, a life of sin, it was miserable. I took the step Brother Vince is talking about, I am grateful everyday for God’s grace, His love and His Mercy. Through Him I live in the light, and walk with Him. If you’re in that darkness – walk into the light, God’s forgiveness and healing is real and it’s awesome! Seek a brother to pray with you, to walk with, to be your iron that sharpens you and makes you a better man. I’ll pray for you and with you. Thanks Vince for your ministry and your daily encouragement!

Yes, Mark I lived in that too. What a waste of 30 years. Who knows how life would have been different. God really had to use that time to show me how lost I was and how great his salvation is! In high school, I lived in intentional ignorance. Felt badly during a Sunday service but didn’t dare open my Bible because the less I actually knew, the less culpable I was. I Literally thought exactly what Vince writes. Amazing! I must not have been the only one. Look at our lives Mark and maybe think like me…..That we are forgiven of 500 not just 50 ( i forget the verse) and we should thank Him more today than yesterday. God bless your day, my Brother!

Amen a hundred times over! God is so good and his forgiveness for our selfish desires and willing choices to continue in a life of sin is both incredible and overwhelming. The moment that I understood and realized that in my darkest moments, making stupid choices God was still there protecting me and walking with me…. needless to say it was a powerful and very emotional moment! I know there are brothers out there right now in that same selfish lifestyle…. there is hope ….. call on God, He is watching and waiting for you to just ask! Have a great day brother!
