Warren County Jail

"You ask and do not receive, because you ask wrongly, to spend it on your passions." —James 4:3

Yesterday a man from New York reached out to me, to share with me about his work and ministry in Warren County Jail. He shared his heart and his work with the men. While his job is challenging, and the men he works with long for a hope that only God provides, the work he does is benefited with simple tools. First men who will invest the time, and second tools to make the conversations easier. And "because he asked," I sent him a box of books this morning to use with the men he works with regularly. It made me wonder why we don't ask more often? Or if we ask, but only "ask wrongly?" Today lay aside your selfish passions and ask God for what you know God wants, and see if he provides.

DO THIS: Pray God's desires, not yours.

PRAYER: God, accomplish your will not mine. Today will you accomplish this __________ in my family, this _____________ in my work, and this _____________ in my faith.
