When Anxiety Strikes
"Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7
We all have some form of anxiety. And it's not anxiety itself that's the issue; it's how it strikes and the way we respond. Anxiety often strikes without notice and exposes our weaknesses. It's a sudden tragedy in our family during a make-or-break moment at work. It's a child needing specialized attention that milks another hour out of an already slim day. It's a device that stops working, a car that breakdowns, heavy traffic that prevents a timely arrival, or a paycheck that hits the account a day late when the finances are slim. And how do you respond? You fret and then fix, or fix while you fret. But do you ever pray? Have you built the discipline of giving "everything in prayer and supplication" to God? Maybe try this today and with each moment that triggers anxiety replace your fixing and fretting with asking a God who can fix anything, even a heart that is not aligned with Him.
DO THIS: In your anxiety pray to God
PRAYER: God, today I want to give you...
