When We Fall Apart
The man declares, I am weary, O God; I am weary, O God, and worn out. Surely I am too stupid to be a man. I have not the understanding of a man. — Proverbs 30:1-2
There is something about a man who has been broken by the exhaustion of human effort. When a man hits this moment, he is devoid of all pride. And this looks a little different for each man since every man's pride is slightly different. But sometimes, this fall is not only exhausting. It's humiliating. Because at this moment, a man must compare his ingenuity, ability, and strength with God's. And man is no match for the Almighty God.
As God said to Job:
"Dress for action like a man; I will question you, and you make it known to me." — Job 38:3
But while this is a little humiliating for us as men, a humble man is the most usable of men. Thus this is our finest moment. It's the moment we begin to think less of ourselves and more of God.
So do this. Start thinking of yourself less. Avoid all the unneeded humiliation. You see, if you start humble, you'll start low. And if you stay low, then the fall is not as far. And then the result is you won't be so exhausted. The easiest way to do this is to begin today by confessing your desires, plans, and accomplishments and letting God have them. It's starting by stopping. Start by stopping thinking about yourself so much.
ASK THIS: How do you need to go low today?
DO THIS: Stop thinking about yourself all the time.
PRAY THIS: God, may more of my thoughts be about you and far less about me.

God, help me to keep more of my thoughts about you and far less about me.
Amen
My vote is Hebrews,
About encouragement to put our trust in the ultimate Man who made a way for all men to come back into God’s presence through faith in Him.
Even while you were talking, my mind started to drift about things I could accomplish at work 🤯 less of me, more of you God!
wow, powerful song
reminds me of every men’s retreat up at Big Sandy Camp. Dave Malone, the fishing coordinator/amateur poet, saying that he, and any other man after God’s heart, do not and SHOULD not hide any tears.
I also would like to recommend again the book of Ephesians and the armor of God and the roles of each and every family member.
John next please
Please do a devotional on the book of James or Jude
Never heard that song before…wrecked me. Thanks for the word today Vince!
Thank you for todays devo. Humbleness is a big key. It’ss kind of like the prayer, “God give me patience and I would like it right away please”. We’d all like humbleness, but please right away.
I’m excited to hear you are coming to First Baptist in Brainerd on June 18th. Let me know, if Tom Kientzle is not available, if there are any questions you may have,

Thanks for the word Vince & appreciated your video on the SCOTUS leak.
By putting God first in my life, then family and work. Work has been first too long.

God I give you my desires, goals, accomplishments. to You take them and use them to bring glory to you Lord teach me that the way up in this Christian life is to find myself daily on my knees before you in total submission.
I vote for 1 Corinthians, seems appropriate as Paul was trying to articulate how to remain in Christ in a corrupt world, seems somethings just don’t change!
I need constant reminding that my bills, my bank account, my plans for vehicles and toys…. they are all secondary to, and a good long ways behind, His plan and purpose for my life. His kingdom and His glory. Gal 2:20 is with me always as a reminder that my life is not about me. And 1 Cor 6:20 a reminder that my life is not my own. Forgive me Father for my selfish desires and make clear my focus on You!
Thanks Vince for another great reminder. I will cast my vote for Galatians for our next book to study!
Wow good word. “If you stay low, then the fall is not as far”. Thanks Vince
More Jesus Less Me
Thanks Vince. Perfect timing as I step into a season where the battle between pride and humility is in full swing. More of Him, less of me. Man that is it…. You know.. . ALL IN!
I Timothy
May we all cease from striving, knowing that He is God, THE Great shepherd, and we are the sheep of His pasture. All glory to God alone!
Hello Vince, I’d like to study Ephesians next
Lord, I pray I would not think more highly of myself that I ought, but walk in sober judgement according to the faith you have given me.
