When You Feel Weak Be Bold
Since we have such a hope, we are very bold. 2 Corinthians 3:12
There will be days you are going to feel weak and not bold. Often these are days when nothing seems to go your way. A feeling of weakness prompted by a ballistic boss, rogue relationship, caput car, or a sinister sin. We all have these days. And if you add to this feeling a whisper of self-defeat, it produces hopelessness that quenches the small spark of boldness that remains.
While you will have days of weakness, living in self-defeat is not your call as God's man. We are not defeated! Paul's charge to the Corinthians is explicit "we have such a hope." Not just any hope, but great hope. And because of this, we charge ahead "very bold." Note Paul's words later on in the same letter, "But we have this treasure in jars of clay, to show that the surpassing power belongs to God and not to us. We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed." 2 Corinthians 4:7-9
DO THIS TODAY: Be bold today in hope.
PRAYER: God, I will feel weak, but this is not the truth about my situation. The more significant fact is that there is a sweeping victory that I have hope in. Help me to charge ahead in boldness, knowing my hope is in you. May I live today in this knowledge and your boldness.
