Willing Accountability

Pay attention to yourselves! If your brother sins, rebuke him, and if he repents, forgive him.—Luke 17:3

Accountability is far more beautiful than we imagine it. Just look at the benefits in this one verse.  Accountability brings us into a relationship and preserves a relationship. Accountability aids us in our war with sin. Accountability builds courage in us during the rebuke. Accountability can lead to repentance and forgiveness. And all this promotes healing and character in men. But the real benefit we tend to overlook is the awareness it provides. Accountability helps us to "pay attention to ourselves" in a manner we cannot alone. So don't "man-up" today as if you can face the challenges of life alone. Instead, brother up and invite accountability, on your journey of becoming the man God intended you to be.

DO THIS: Invite accountability.

PRAYER: God, help me to become more courageous and invite others to hold me accountable. And may I respond with enthusiasm and a posture to learn.
