Workers of Lawlessness

On that day many will say to me, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?' And then will I declare to them, 'I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.'.—Matthew 7:22-23

There is a day coming. That day. The one where our time and this world will come to an end. And it appears that those living have an opportunity to plead a case to the one who begins and ends all things—the Lord God. But they present a hopeless case. And their evidence? The verbal approval to deads they have done—prophecy, exorcism, and miracles. Yet the Lord's response is startling, "I never knew you." So why this response from God? Well, because there is a difference between knowing about God and intimately knowing God. It's the later that God is after.

En ese día muchos me dirán: 'Señor, Señor, ¿no profetizamos en tu nombre, y echamos fuera demonios en tu nombre, y muchas obras poderosas en tu nombre?' Y luego les declararé: 'Nunca los conocí; apartaos de mí, hacedores de desafuero .'— Mateo 7:22-23

Se acerca un día. Ese día. Aquel en el que nuestro tiempo y este mundo llegarán a su fin. Y parece que los que viven tienen la oportunidad de defender un caso ante el que comienza y termina todas las cosas: el Señor Dios. Pero presentan un caso desesperado. ¿Y su evidencia? La aprobación verbal a los muertos que han hecho: profecía, exorcismo y milagros. Sin embargo, la respuesta del Señor es sorprendente: "Nunca te conocí". Entonces, ¿por qué esta respuesta de Dios? Bueno, porque hay una diferencia entre conocer a Dios y conocer a Dios íntimamente. Es el más tarde lo que Dios busca.
