Year After Year
But in these sacrifices there is a reminder of sins every year.—Hebrews 10:3
The condition of this verse lies in the word "but." The limit of animal sacrifices were that they served only as a temporary reminder of devotional to God. For man's sinfulness needed a better sacrifice. A more permanent, complete, and holy sacrifice. A sacrifice that only God could offer for us, rather than one we offered for ourselves. And in Christ, we see a sacrifice that only God could and would offer. A one time sacrifice for all men and in all time.
DO THIS: Receive the sacrifice.
PRAY THIS: God, thank you for the sacrifice of your son, and caring for me in my desperate state of perpetual helplessness.
