The Winning Side

"The Lord is on my side; I will not fear. What can man do to me?" Psalm 118:6

Who doesn't love to cheer for an underdog, especially when you don't like the other team? Often you cheer for the underdog because you've experienced the agony of defeat. Just consider the last defeat you've faced defeat in marriage, business, or in your personal life. There is nothing like the sinking fearful feeling of watching the "seconds tick off the clock."

But you have to love the question from the author that counters these feelings of fear and defeat. "What can man do to me?" This more a rhetorical taunt than a rhetorical question. It's a statement of belief at the moment fear tries to take hold. He recognizes that there is no stopping God, who wins in the end. While you may lose a battle once in a while, God wins the war in the end.

DO THIS: Reject the fear of defeat and live in victory with God.

PRAYER: God, I know I will not win them all. And many times I have felt like the world is against me. Thanks for helping me see the battles from your perspective. Give me a glimpse of the victory at the end, so the struggles I lose don't overcome me with fear.
